A few weeks ago it has become clear that there will be no workaround on the horizon, to restore the Invidious software we used to a working state.
For now, that means yt.31337.one will stay offline until the Devs behind the project have come up with a solution, or we have found an alternative.
Until then, check out alternatives to Youtube, such as Peertube!

YouTube / Google has blocked IP ranges again and there is currently no fix to circumvent the ban for us.

Despite our instance not being publicly listed, YouTube has IP banned us today.
A workaround is in place for now, though I cannot say how long it will take to be in the same situation.
Note that this will only affect playback, not your account, subscriptions or playlists. If you run into trouble playing a video, it might work choosing to "switch the instance".

Over the past hours, our XMPP server was moved to our Finnish location and the user and pubsub database integrated with the existing DB server. Tschüß Deutschland!

Data loss on invidious instance

Unfortunately, the provider is uncooperative - perhaps projects like this are less than welcome. Until further notice I expect the user data to be lost. It is now possible to create accounts again and upload your backups / imports from newpipe / your list of subscriptions from google takeout.

For a temporary solution, the software has been deployed on a different server to which the domain now leads. Until the problems with the provider have been resolved, account features stay disabled.

There's some trouble with the provider used for just this server. A ticket was opened and I'm hoping for a reply in the next 12 hours.

To maintain a certain exclusiveness in our elect circle of XMPP users on 31337.one, in-band registrations have now been closed.
It will still be possible to generate invite codes/links for getting friends and family onboard, if desired. Currently, this isn't widely supported by client software but should work on Conversations (Android).
